    Motor vehicle crashes involving driver performance–associated factors were increased in association with heat waves and increasing temperature.

    CREAL celebrates 10 years of excellence in research in environmental health

    On December 19th, the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL) celebrates its tenth anniversary consolidated as a world leader in research in environmental epidemiology. This celebration coincides with an advanced process of integration with the Institute for Global Health of Barcelona (ISGlobal) that will become next year one of the most important global health research centres in Europe. To celebrate this 10th anniversary, CREAL has organized a symposium to discuss the future of environmental epidemiology.

    As part of LIFE-MEDHISS project meeting held at CREAL, there was a presentation by Anna García-Altés, from the Catalan Agency for Quality and Evaluation of Health (AQuAS), describing the VISC+ project, an initiative from the Catalan Government to use all the available health information anonymously for research purposes.

    Pompeu Fabra University and Mar Health Park Become ISGlobal Partners

    At its most recent meeting in November, the Board of Trustees of the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) voted to appoint Mar Health Park and Pompeu Fabra University (UPF)as partners of the Institute. The addition of these new partners furthers the integration of ISGlobal with the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL), a process that will be completed within the next few months.
