How to report air quality data in an understandable manner? The CREAL has organized this participatory workshop about the best way to communicate about air quality to society. 

Children are more vulnerable to the effects of environmental elements due to their active development processes.

Eating fish more than three times a week during pregnancy was associated with mothers giving birth to babies at increased risk of rapid growth in infancy and of childhood obesity, according to an article published by JAMA Pediatrics.

Adults with long-term exposure to ozone (O₃) face an increased risk of dying from respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.

CREAL gives a cycle of theoretical and practical workshops, in collaboration with the FCRi and sponsored by Amgen, for secondary school teachers.

A study led by CREAL and published in the American Journal of Epidemiology shows that eating fish during pregnancy has benefits in the neuropsychological development of children.

The annual scientific retreat of ISGlobal and its allied centre CREAL took place on January 14^th at the CosmoCaixa in Barcelona. Around 200 people, including researchers from the Manhiça Health Research Centre  (CISM), attended the event.

The kick-off meeting for SHAMISEN, a European Commission-funded Project led by CREAL, an ISGlobal allied center, took place on the 17th and 18th of December at the PRBB, Barcelona. The aim of the project is to review the lessons learned from Chernobyl and Fukushima in order to improve the surveillance and living conditions of populations affected by past and future nuclear accidents.

Results from this study, published in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine, suggest that early life or in-utero exposure to air pollution and soot may contribute to increase asthma incidence in childhood.
