CREAL participates in the bike ride at the Week of Sustainable Mobility

The Staff from CREAL, an ISGlobal allied center, will participate in #biciBCN2015, a 10km bike ride that will take place on October 11th at 11am and it will start and end at the Passeig de Lluís Companys, in Barcelona.

Registration is free and participants will receive a gift, water and fruit. You can register as a participant or as a volunteer. Volunteers will work with collective organization in the header of the bike ride and control the intersections of the streets. To register, please fill out this link.

The bike ride

It will take place at 11am from pg. Lluís Companys, and it will continue Pujades, av. Meridiana, Pallars, Àvila, Salvador Espriu, Marina, pg. Circumval·lació, av. Marquès de l’Argentera, pg. Isabel II, pg. Colom, pg. Josep Carner, av. Paral·lel, ronda Sant Pau, Manso, Calàbria, Floridablanca, ronda Sant Antoni, Pelai, Fontanella, Trafalgar and it will finish at the same starting point.

The participation of children under 12 must be done under the accompaniment of an adult who will take care of the minor. Participation between 12 and 16 should be under the accompaniment of an adult or carrying signed authorization from the legal protector at the time of registration.

Among the participants will be raffled ten buffs bicycle, courtesy of Espaibici; two shirts and caps for cyclists (men and women), courtesy of Barceloneta Bikes and ten copies of the book Biciosos, by Pedro Bravo, signed by the author, courtesy of the publisher Debate - Penguin Random House.

Each participant must attend with their own bike or a rental bicycle. We recommend the use of helmet and gloves. For less than 16 year-old the use of helmets should be mandatory under the rules of the DGT force.

The organization points out that "the design of the route follows the standards of road safety, which will follow the directions of the organization. This is not a sporting event. "

Goals of the Week of Sustainable and Safe Mobility

This action aims to contribute to improving the quality of the air we breathe in cities, change our way of moving in the city, to increase our physical activity levels and help prevent traffic accidents.

It seeks to promote the use of sustainable transport, particularly public transport, cycling, walking mobility and electric vehicles.
