ISEE-Europe Young Researchers Conference on Environmental Epidemiology, 2nd announcement

ISEE-Europe is organizing a 2-day Young Researchers Conference on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 October 2014 at CREAL, Barcelona. The conference will cover all areas of research in environmental epidemiology. A main theme of the conference will be the “Exposome” due to the increasing interest in this area of research in environmental epidemiology. The format of the meeting will promote discourse and will include invited and submitted presentations, posters and extensive discussion time. This conference aims to promote scientific communication in environmental epidemiology in Europe at a time when research funds for public and environmental health are diminishing. The focus on young researchers is due to their limited access to funds and thus opportunities for ISEE conference attendance.

Organization. The conference will be led by ISEE-Europe together with the ISEE Students and New Researchers Network and administrative help by CREAL. An international young researchers scientific committee chaired by Prof Barbara Hoffmann, Deputy Chair of ISEE-Europe, and Dr Mireille Toledano, Councilor of ISEE and ISEE-Europe, will plan all scientific aspects of the conference.

Submission Deadline for Scientific Abstracts (oral and poster presentations) — June 30, 2014

Decisions on Scientific Abstracts — Mid August, 2014

Conference Registration Opens — June 15, 1, 2014

Conference Opens — Monday, October 20, 2014

Conference Closes — Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Registration and Funding. Universal registration: 85€. Several major European projects (Exposomics, Helix, Heals, Geronimo and Medall) on environmental health and the Exposome will provide limited financial support, covering costs for travel of keynote speakers. No travel grants are available for participants.

Venue. The venue is the PRBB building (www.prbb.org) in Barcelona where CREAL (www.creal.cat) is located. A small amount of student accommodation will be available.
