The ISGlobal Alliance presents its research at the first CERCA Conference

The CERCA Institute held its first Conference on April 28th in El Born, Barcelona, with the objective of raising the profile of the activities of all CERCA institutes, facilitating the formation of collaborative partnerships with other scientific institutes, and with the desire to inspire future research to contemplate new goals. In this context, ISGlobal, and its research centres CRESIB and CREAL, took the opportunity to present their research together.

During the event, CERCA’s director, Lluís Rovira, noted that 41% of CERCA centres have ERC Research grants, 15% have Severo Ochoa grants, and 15% have Marie Curie COFUND grants. He added that 70% of CERCA centres publish in the scientific journals Science and Nature, 61% coordinate European projects, and 50% have created spin-off companies.

Research Centres of Catalonia (CERCA) have developed intensive scientific activity in recent years, which has led them to be among the major players in the European and international context in some disciplines and sectors. Their contributions are helping to create and implement future standards and technologies, and to promote knowledge-based society.

The Conference program is available here.
