Iberoamerican Congress of Epidemiology and Public Health

From 4th to 6th September 2013, the Iberoamerican Congress of Epidemiology and Public Health took place at the Andalusian School of Public Health of Granada. The theme this year was "The science and practice of health policy: the public health intelligence".

XXXI Congress hosted the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology (SEE), the XV Congress of the Spanish Society of Public Health and Health Administration (SESPAS) and the Annual Meeting of the Portuguese Society of Epidemiology.

The inaugural conference, "The world stage in the next decade and the challenges to health", took place on September 4th, at 12:00pm, by Pedro Alonso, director of ISGlobal, and Javier Solana, President of the ESADE Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics and vice president of ISGlobal.

The following day, J. Mª Antó, CREAL director, from ISGlobal Alliance, presented the MeDALL project of asthma and allergy in childhood. At 11:00am, Antoni Plasència, director of CRESIB, from the ISGlobal Alliance, moderated, with Ethel Maciel, from the  Universidad Federal do Espíritu Santo, the plenary session "New scientific approaches in epidemiology and application in the health of the population".
