Webinar: HELIX – first steps to put the exposome into practice

Webinar description:

Martine Vrijheid, PhD, CREAL- Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology, Spain

The Human Early Life Exposome (HELIX) project is a new collaborative research project, funded by the European Commission’s 7th Framework Program and led by Dr. Martine Vrijheid at the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL) in Barcelona. The project aims to implement novel exposure assessment and biomarker methods to characterize early-life exposure to a wide range of environmental hazards and associate these with omics biomarkers and child health outcomes. HELIX proposes a more integrated, holistic, way of studying the environment during critical developmental time periods. As such it is one of the first attempts to describe the early-life exposome of European populations. In this presentation, Dr. Martine Vrijheid will focus on the project’s background, concept and study design.
