The main purpose of the Master in Public Health is to contribute to the training of professionals specialized in the scope of the Public Health, as well as to provide the complementary educational formation to the resident doctors of Preventive Medicine and Public Health. In order to obtain this purpose, the Master will provide the knowledge and the abilities necessary to identify, to characterize, to take care of and to evaluate the problems of public health in a multidisciplinary context.
Orientation
- Professional specialisation and introduction to research.
- This master, as the other UPF masters within the POP in Biomedicine, can allow the access to the PhD programme in Health and Life Sciences, , in the speciality of Public Health.
Objectives
- To train public health professionals capable to face health problems and its determinants from a population perspective, and to promote and to restore people's health people by means of collective actions and the supply of health protection and promotion services.
- To identify the health needs of the population.
- To develop health policies and social answers to maintain, protect and promote health.
- To guarantee the supply of health services.
- To attain the basic knowledge required for carrying out epidemiological and public health research.
