Medicine Degree at Universitat de Barcelona (1996) and Doctor in Public Health and Methodology of the Biomedical Research by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2002). Since 1996 she works as an epidemiologist in the Respiratory and Environmental Health Research Unit at the Institut Municipal d´Investigació Mèdica (IMIM). Her work on the study of risk factors for acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), was awarded the Young Researcher Award of the European Respiratory Society in 2003 and the Prize "Lección Joven" 2007 of the Spanish Society of Pneumology.
